Belonging to 751 Squadron Royal Navy, crashed on 25th January 1940 while on a ferry flight from RAF Silloth in Cumbria to RNAS Ford near Littlehampton in West Sussex. The wreck with it's pilot was not discovered until late February 1940*

Belonging to 66 Squadron RAF, crashed on 12th April 1951. A flight of 4 Meteors had taken off from RAF Linton-on-Ouse for a training flight but after encountering thick cloud the flight turned for home. The lead pair tried to descend through the cloud and collided with high ground on Sliddens Moss*
